District 622 Nutrition Services

Good nutrition: Essential for learning

622 Nutrition Services provides students with healthy, well-balanced meals. The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program providing nutritionally balanced lunches to children each school day. All meals are USDA regulated.

Nutrition Services offers five meal components at lunch and four components at breakfast. These components are protein, bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The student has the option of selecting a minimum of three items.

Nutrition Services have made great changes in the last year to improve the quality of our program. We now offer free seconds on fruits and vegetables, more whole-grain choices, and salads are offered in the elementary schools twice per week.

Free/reduced meals

To qualify for free or reduced priced meals a District 622 Application for Educational Benefits must be completed every school year. Please send your application to: Independent School District #622 – Nutrition Services Department, 2520 East 12th Avenue, North St. Paul, MN 55109. Applications for Educational Benefits are not transferable from other Minnesota school districts.

Returned Check Policy

As you know, checks returned due to non-sufficient funds causes a burden to our already tight budget. What you may not know is that for every check returned there may be additional fees charged to us by our bank. Therefore, we are changing our check acceptance policy. We have now begun using a service that collects returned checks and the state allowed fee electronically.

This is notification for you that any non-sufficient fund checks will be collected electronically along with the state allowed fee. If you have any questions about this service, you may call e-CAP at  877-898-8987 ext. 222.

Thank you for your cooperation.
