Points of Pride: Tartan DECA students advance to national conference

Tartan DECA had 10 students qualify at our state conference and will advance to the International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. They will be competing in the following events:

·         Food Marketing - Riley Boris (12) - 1st Place

·         Financial Literacy Consulting - Bailey Griffith (12) - 2nd Place

·         Human Resources Management - Madison Bowes (12) - 8th Place

·         Minnesota Gold Chapter Award - Mariana Cervantes (12), Riley Boris (12), Madison Bowes (12), Sam Rosemark (11)

·         School-based Enterprise Gold Certification - Riley Satriano (11), Katelyn Koch (12), Kylie Criego (11)

The following Tartan students earned finalist awards:

·         Employment Interview Entry Level Jobs - Holden Todd (11) - 10th Place

·         Marketing Plan for Service-based business - Nicole Paulson (11), Jordan Spannbauer (11), Katelyn Koch (12), Maeve Funk (11) - 4th Place

·         Personal Financial Literacy - Bailey Griffith (12) - 7th Place

Overall it was DECA's largest state conference ever with nearly 2000 students participating in 39 competitive events. About 160 students/teams from Minnesota advanced to the International round at the end of April and will be travelling to Nashville.
